DAIAD is a proud supporter of the City Challenge Hackathon, a three-day Marathon for the development of Innovative Applications and Services for Smart Cities using open technologies and open data

Young entrepreneurs, developers, analysts, and students, are invited to develop pilot services and applications for Smart Cities, solving actual challenges of local authorities, while also supporting local growth. All domains and sectors of Smart Cities are welcomed, from IoT and smart grids, to mobility and tourism.

The best applications will be awarded and further developed with the support of KEDE, the National Union of Local Authorities. KEDE actively contributes to creating innovation, boosting youth and innovative entrepreneurship and will create solutions to the everyday problems of Municipalities and their internal ICT-based functioning.

More than 230 developers in 50 teams have already registered for the Hackathon. Several parallel workshops, demonstrations, and events will attract leading government, business, and innovation stakeholders.

The DAIAD team will be there, focusing on promoting Water in Smart Cities! We have already provided real-world water consumption open data to participants, allowing them to develop new services that target water efficiency. The full DAIAD system will be available for all participants to experiment and learn! We will be offering hands-on training to developers, active citizens, utility personnel, and local government stakeholders, engaging everyone in Smart Water!
